This is a great resource for people with a limited background in chemistry to understand the concepts of nutrient metabolism. I got this for my brother who has no chemistry background, and I believe it has helped answer his questions. The author explains difficult concepts in an excellent way. Her analogies are on point. If you already have a nutrition background this book may not be of much use, but if you also have family members who constantly ask you in depth questions about macronutrient metabolism you may find it useful to refer them to this book.Product details

This excellent summary of the biochemistry of metabolism will be helpful to students and professionals in the fields of nutrition and medicine. It guides you in a step wise fashion to understand how metabolism works.
A wonderful book for any health science student, or anyone interested in understanding how our bodies work. Very clearly written, with interesting and relevant examples, and understandable graphics.
A lot of care with into making this material understandable and thorough. It is really obvious that it is of utmost importance to the author that students understand Human Metabolism. Very good.
I liked this easy to read, informative and helpful book very much.
An excellent book explaining the human metabolism in a simple, but not oversimplified way. Way easier and more relevant than all the "Dummies guide to..."
how can a book publish with these many typos and errors? The book is OK and informative but wow ... it must have been written by dictation. Some of the typos surely could have been caught by spell checkers. So not an enjoyable read from the frustration one gets from all the typos.
I have always been interested in the human metabolism and how the food we eat impacts overall health. This is such a great starting point to the basic chemistry that occurs within the human body. I have been able to make a few minor changes to the foods I consume and have seen major changes in weight loss, energy levels and overall health. What I really found interesting is the changes that occur when sugar is consumed, really opened my eyes to the stress it puts on the body. Highly recommend!
