I found it a wonderful book of short stories as each chapter presented a fresh episode in the life of the author. I was particularly impressed that he recorded his life's experiences for the benefit of his grandson.I would certainly recommend it as a good family novel.

Found it hard to put down, as curiosity about the author’s adventures kept me turning the pages. Each of the chapters encompass a story, which makes for easy and enjoyable reading. You can easily imagine yourself participating in the adventures of this fascinating man and his unique life.
What a wonderful book. For one that has traveled not nearly as much as I would like to, I have now been on a journey along with John. Not only did I feel as if I were there, it has inspired me to one day seek out the places he has been and experience them in person.
As I read John's story I was experiencing his journey along side him. The detailed writing grabs you from the beginning and doesn't let you go. I was inspired by his courage to travel on his own and the decisions he made along the way. I admired his attitude of there are no wrong decisions as any decision leads to another one. It is nice to be reminded to think with your mind, but follow your heart. A great book if you are looking for a journey!
A lovely book detailing the memories, experiences, and adventures of a man with Old World charm. Mr. Homer’s wanderlust has taken him all over the world. This book is a remarkable telling of a life lived to the fullest by a man whose glass is always half full as he looks forward to the next adventure.
